To make whole wheat bread, combine 2 3/4 cups water, 1/3 cup oil, 1/3 cup honey, 2 tablespoons molasses, and 1 tablespoon salt. Add 2 tablespoons of yeast and 6 cups of whole wheat flour and mix. Let the dough rise and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes.
Alternatively, mix 3 cups warm water, 1/2 ounce of yeast, and 1/3 cup of honey, then add 5 cups of white bread flour. After 30 minutes, add 3 tablespoons of melted butter, 1/3 cup of honey, and 1 tablespoon of salt. Spread flour over a flat surface and knead the dough with whole wheat flour until it doesn't stick to the surface, but is still sticky to the touch.
Place the dough in a greased bowl and let it rise in a warm environment until the dough doubles in size. Punch the dough down, divide it into 3 loaves, and place it into three 9-by-5-inch pans. Bake the loaves at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Coat the top of the loaves with margarine or butter to prevent the crust from getting hard. Store whole wheat bread in an airtight container at room temperature or freeze for later use.
