As of 2015, Wal-Mart sells a couple of varieties of sausage casings made from edible or non-edible materials. Non-edible casings are made for curing and smoking sausage. Casing from Smokehouse are made from non-edible protein, while Eastman Outdoor's casings are 100 percent fibrous and edible.
Smokehouse sells casing by itself or in a package that includes a molding tube, plunger, seasoning mix, recipe book and curing salt. Wal-Mart carries Eastman Outdoors' casing in a package that includes a seasoning pack and curing salt. Walmart.com displays local availability of each product. Products not locally available ship to the nearest store free of charge or to a residential address for a fee.
