To use the Vitantonio Pizzelle Chef 300, plug in the pizzelle baker, preheat it for approximately 10 minutes, and begin when the indicator light goes off. Place about 1 heaping teaspoon of pizzelle dough at the center of the bottom grid, close the grids, and bake the pizzelle until it is golden brown, about 30 seconds.
Gently remove the pizzelle from the grid with a fork, and place it on a rack to cool. During continuous baking, the indicator light often goes on and off. This merely indicates that the pizzelle baker is maintaining optimal baking temperature. It is not an indication of when to start or stop baking.
The pizzelle baker's carryover heat potentially cooks subsequent pizzelles more quickly when you close the grids. After baking the last pizzelle, unplug the unit, and leave the grids open to let them cool. After the grids cool, brush them free of any crumbs or caked-on matter, and wipe the grids down with a clean, dry cloth. Avoid using sharp or metallic objects to clean the pizzelle baker.
The Vitantonio Pizzelle Chef 300 does not require seasoning prior to a first use. Fats and oils, such as margarine, that are part of pizzelle recipes season the grids inadvertently. The pizzelle baker may smoke during the first few times it gets hot. For best results, throw away the first two pizzelles you bake.
