A single serving of bacon contains one-fifth the amount of sodium that the average person should consume in a day, so its no surprise that the regular consumption of bacon increases the chances of stroke up to 41 percent. Regular consumption of artificial sweeteners increases the chance of developing type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, obesity and metabolic syndrome. Shelf-stable condiments are condiments that do not have to be refrigerated, such as ketchup bottles, mustard packets and many dressings. Many unhealthy, unnatural chemical agents are added into shelf-stable condiments to keep them from spoiling, and these agents have been linked to premature heart disease.
Swordfish can be unhealthy because it contains a lot of the neurotoxin mercury, which is especially dangerous to a developing fetus. Processed meats increase the risk of cardiovascular disease and some types of cancers, as they contain a high amount of nitrate preservatives and sodium. Pre-packaged, buttered microwave popcorn is unhealthy because the supposed butter on the popcorn is actually made of flavored chemicals that are linked to respiratory risks and Alzheimer's.
Most bagels are made with refined white flour, which is very unhealthy because it is linked to weight gain, heart disease and type 2 diabetes. Stick margarine is high in saturated fat and increases the risk of stroke, heart disease and weight gain. Non-organic dairy products can be very unhealthy because the animals they come from are given growth hormones, which can increase the consumer's risk of developing certain types of cancer. Finally, deep-fried foods are some of the worst foods because toxic chemical compounds can form in foods that are cooked at high temperatures.
