Information regarding the top 10 best selling soft drinks in the world is unavailable to the public, but the best selling soft drinks in the United States include Coca Cola Classic, Pepsi, Diet Coke, Mountain Dew and Dr. Pepper in that order. Sprite, Diet Pepsi, Fanta, Diet Mountain Dew and Coke Zero round out the top 10, as of 2014.
Coca Cola Classic retains its lead as the top-selling soft drink, holding the no. 1 spot since at least 2007. Pepsi regained the second spot over Diet Coke, after losing the spot in 2008. 2014 marks Diet Coke's lowest ranking on the top 10 list since 2007. Despite Coke and Pepsi's strong grip of the top of the market, both companies actually lost market share, and soft drinks as a whole are down by 3 percent since 2013.
Fanta moved up one spot to no. 8, taking the place of Diet Mountain Dew, which held the spot in 2013, 2012 and 2011. Fanta has seen the biggest growth in sales since 2012, during which it occupied the 10th spot, entering the top 10 for the first time. Coke Zero managed to retain its hold on the 10th spot, which it took from Diet Dr. Pepper in 2013.
