To toast pine nuts, soak the nuts in a quart of salt water. Heat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Discard the water, and roast the nuts in the oven for approximately 10 to 30 minutes.
- Soak the pine nuts
Add 1/4 to 1/2 cup of sea salt to a quart of filtered water. Submerge about 1 cup of pine nuts in the water for at least two hours, but preferably overnight. Remove the nuts, and discard the water.
- Preheat the oven
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Position the pine nuts on an ungreased baking sheet
Lay the pine nuts across the baking sheet. For best results, ensure that the nuts are spread evenly around the baking sheet and that none of the nuts are touching or on top of any other nuts.
- Roast the nuts for 10 to 30 minutes
Roast the nuts for 10 to 30 minutes, or until the nuts are golden brown on the outside. Stir the nuts after each 5-minute interval to ensure that the nuts do not stick to the baking sheet.
- Remove the nuts from the oven
Remove the evenly browned nuts from the oven. Allow the nuts to cool down to room temperature before you consume them or store them in an airtight, plastic or glass container.
