To successfully freeze nuts, store them in an airtight plastic container and freeze them in the form in which you want to use them. If frozen in shell, crack them to allow the nuts to expand when frozen. Most frozen nuts keep up to one year.
Nuts have a low moisture content and can be frozen all at once without issues such as clumping. Nuts can be frozen whole, crushed or in pieces. Freeze them in the sizes in which you want to use them so they can be taken out of the freezer and put directly into the recipe or used as a topping.
