Netgrocer, Safeway and Amazon Grocery are three grocery stores that offer online delivery services. Each store provides varying products and delivery times to predetermined delivery areas.
Netgrocer offers numerous pre-packaged grocery items, personal care items, baby food and specialty items, including organic foods and kosher foods. This online merchant also sells a variety of frozen breakfasts, dinner or lunch entrées and desserts. Upon ordering, customers receive the expected delivery date and the purchase total, which includes shipping costs.
Safeway offers limited online delivery service throughout major U.S. cities and suburbs, as of early 2015. Because the stores provide online delivery from their physical retail locations throughout the U.S., customers can receive their items within hours.
Amazon sells thousands of grocery-related items on its website. Customers can order individual items or sign up for the online retailer's Subscribe & Save program. Using this service, customers choose specific items that they want delivered to their homes approximately once per month. This subscription service provides monthly grocery and shipping discounts that are not available without the service. Amazon customers in select areas of the U.S. can also utilize Amazon Fresh, a grocery service that allows customers to receive fresh, local items using same-day or overnight delivery.
