Although Ina Garten doesn't have a Stroganoff recipe as of 2015, she has several beef recipes, such as filet of beef bourguignon and summer filet of beef with bearnaise mayonnaise. Stroganoff typically contains beef cooked in sour cream.
Some of Ina Garten's recipes that contain a creamy or cheesy sauce and beef instead of the sour cream in Stroganoff are filet of beef with Gorgonzola sauce and slow-roasted filet beef with basil Parmesan mayonnaise. Stroganoff recipes from other chefs, such as the ones by Paula Deen, Ree Drummond and Rachael Ray, are available on the Food Network website.
To make a basic Stroganoff recipe, cook 12 ounces of egg noodles in boiling water until tender. Drain the water, and heat in a skillet with 2 tablespoons of salted butter. Make the beef topping by cooking 1 pound of cubed sirloin steak in a skillet with 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Once it browns, remove the meat, and add another 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Cook 8 ounces of cut cremini mushroom caps, 2 chopped carrots and 1/2 a minced onion. Remove from the heat, and pour 2 cups of beef stock and 1/2 cup of brandy into the skillet. Whisk 2 tablespoons of cornstarch with 1/4 cup of beef stock, then add it to the skillet, and return it to the heat.
Remove the skillet from the heat once the sauce thickens, and add 1/4 cup of sour cream, 1 teaspoon of Dijon mustard and the cooked beef. Mix in the noodles, and garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
