To make the traditional Crispix snack mix, preheat an oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit. Melt 3 tablespoons butter in a pan, and add 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/4 teaspoon onion powder, 2 teaspoons lemon juice and 4 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce. Add about 5 cups Crispix cereal and five cups Cheez-It snack crackers. Bake this in an oven-safe dish or a baking pan with parchment paper for about 45 minutes. Spread the mixture on paper towels, and cool.
The sweet recipe from AllRecipes.com requires a 12-ounce package of Crispix, 1 cup almonds and 1 cup pecans. It also requires 1/2 cup butter, 3/4 cup white corn syrup and 1 cup packed brown sugar. Preheat the oven to 275 degrees Fahrenheit, and then coat a baking pan with cooking spray. Mix the butter, corn syrup and brown sugar in a bowl, and then microwave the mixture until the butter melts. Coat the dry ingredients in this mixture, and then bake in the oven for about an hour. Stir the mixture about every 15 minutes in the oven. Let the snack mix cool before serving.
