Allrecipes.com offers recipes for tangy slow cooker pork roast and garlic pork roast for Crock-Pots and other slow cookers. Both recipes require less than 20 minutes preparation time.
Make tangy slow cooker pork roast by slicing 1 large yellow onion and spreading the slices evenly over the bottom of the slow cooker. Set a 2 1/2 pound pork sirloin roast on top of the layer of onions. Mix 1 cup of hot water, 1/4 cup of white sugar, 3 tablespoons of red wine vinegar, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and 1 tablespoon of ketchup in a separate mixing bowl. Season the mixture with 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder and hot sauce to taste. Blend the ingredients thoroughly.
Pour the blend over the roast and cover the slow cooker. Cook the roast for three to four hours on high or six to eight hours on low.
To make the garlic pork roast, season a 2-pound roast with salt and pepper to taste and brown it in a large heavy skillet coated with 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Quarter 4 sweet potatoes and 1 large onion. Slice 6 cloves of garlic and layer the potatoes, onion and garlic in the bottom of the slow cooker. Place the roast on top of the layers and pour a 14.5-ounce can of chicken broth over it. Cover the pot and cook the roast for six hours on low.
