A simple way to use hot banana peppers is to make tortillas filled with lunch meat. A dish that is still easy to make is stuffed banana peppers.
In order to make a tortilla filled with lunch meat, take a 12-inch flour tortilla and spread 2 tablespoons of whipped cream cheese on one side. Cover the cheese with 3 slices of ham. Slice and seed one hot banana pepper, place the slices on top of the ham, and roll up the tortilla. This dish takes five minutes to make and yields 1 serving.
Stuffed banana peppers are a good idea for a dinner party of four. Take 4 hot banana peppers, cut off the tops, and seed the peppers. Roast and chop 1 pound hot ground Italian sausage and mix it with 1/2 cup Locatelli Romano cheese, 1/2 cup bread crumbs and 1 large egg and add salt and pepper to taste. Stuff the peppers with the sausage mixture. Heat a large pan, pour in some olive oil, and fry the stuffed peppers until browned on each side. Heat 1 cup marinara sauce, place the peppers on the sauce, and grate 1 wedge of dry ricotta cheese on top of the peppers.
