Food Network has a simple and easy to follow recipe for French bread pizzas. For variety, add different toppings to create your favorite types of pizza flavors.
To make Food Network's recipe, preheat the oven to 375 F. Lay six deli rolls cut side up on a baking sheet, and top each half with marinara sauce and fresh sliced mozzarella. Add topping of your choosing. Place the baking sheet on the lowest rack for 8 to 10 minutes. Turn the heat up to 425 F, and put the sheet on the highest rack until the cheese starts to bubble. Remove and serve.
For variety, make Canadian bacon and pineapple pizza by topping the bread with Canadian bacon slices and pineapple. Make Greek salad pizzas by substituting marinara sauce for olive oil, and sprinkle with salt and pepper. In a bowl, mix 3 tablespoons olive oil, 12 ounces chopped Kalamata olives, 8 ounces crumbled feta, 4 diced ripe tomatoes, 1/2 a seeded and diced English cucumber, 1/2 a bunch fresh chopped parsley, and salt and pepper. Top the cooked pizzas with the salad. Make tomato basil pizzas by substituting the marinara sauce with pesto, and top with Roma tomato slices. Drizzle 2 tablespoons olive oil, and top the cooked pizza with 1/2 bunch fresh basil leaves.
