To make kolache dough, pour 1 package of active dry yeast, 1/4 cup of sugar and 1 cup of flour in 1 cup of warm milk, and cover the bowl. While waiting for the mixture to double in size, beat together 2 eggs, 1/2 cup of melted butter and 1 teaspoon of salt, and then fold it into the yeast mixture along with 2 more cups of flour. After kneading the dough for 10 minutes, allow it to rise for an hour, and punch it down. Roll the dough into balls, and flatten them into patties before brushing them with melted butter and allowing them to rise for 30 minutes. Add the desired filling.
