To make an easy monkey bread dish, separate two cans of Pillsbury Grands biscuits, cut each biscuit into quarters, and place them in a plastic food bag with 1/2 cup sugar and 1/4 cup cinnamon. Shake the bag to coat the dough, and arrange it in a lightly greased pan.
Melt 3/4 cup of butter or margarine in the microwave, and mix in one cup of brown sugar. Coat the top of the biscuits in the pan with the butter and brown sugar mixture. Bake in a 350-degree oven for 28 to 32 minutes or until golden brown. Once the dish is cool, flip it over onto a plate, and cut into slices to serve. Top with raisins or walnuts if desired.
Alternatively, make the monkey bread in individual sized muffin tins for faster baking times. Prepare the canned biscuit dough in the same way, coating with sugar and cinnamon. Drop four or five quartered biscuit pieces into each cup in the muffin tin. Drizzle the melted butter and brown sugar mixture over each individual cup. Bake in a 400-degree oven for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Allow the dish to cool for at least 10 minutes before removing the individual portions from the muffin tin. Top with raisins or walnuts if desired.
