An easy recipe for fried apple pie is Instructables' 5-Minute Pie, using pre-made pie crust and apple pie filling. The apple pie filling can also be swapped out for any other type of fruit filling.
To make the 5-Minute Pie, first roll out the pre-made pie crust and cut into 6-inch circles using a cookie cutter or empty can. Fill half of each circle with the apple pie filling, fold the dough over the filling, and seal the edges of the crust using a fork. Add the pies to 1 1/2 cup vegetable oil heated on medium heat. Cook the pies for about three minutes, flipping them over if frying in a shallow pan. Drain the cooked pies on paper towels and top with sugar, powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar.
To make an oven-fried apple pie, roll out eight pre-packaged refrigerated biscuits to make 5-inch circles, then place the circles on greased cookie sheets. Add 2 tablespoons apple pie filling to each circle, a little bit off center, then fold the circle in half. Seal the edges of the dough and poke the tops three times with a fork. Spread 4 teaspoons melted butter on top and sprinkle a mixture of 1 tablespoon sugar and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon. Bake the pies for 15 to 20 minutes at 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
