To make a simple pear pie, put 1 can of sliced pears in an unbaked pie crust, and mix 1/2 pint of whipping cream, 2 eggs and 3 tablespoons of sugar. Pour the mixture over the pears, and bake it at 325 degrees Fahrenheit for one hour.
Alternatively, arrange 4 to 5 sliced pears in a pie shell. Mix 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of flour, 1/2 cup of melted butter and 2 eggs. If desired, add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice, 1/2 teaspoon of ground ginger and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Mix until the ingredients are well-blended. Pour the mixture over the pears, and bake it at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 40 to 45 minutes or until light brown.
For a 20-minute pear pie recipe, cut 2 to 3 pears lengthwise into halves, remove the cores, and arrange the sides down in a pie crust. Mix 3 tablespoons of flour, 1/2 cup of sugar, 1/4 teaspoon of ground ginger and 1 1/2 cups of sour cream in a bowl. Whisk the ingredients until blended, and pour them evenly over the pears. Combine 1/2 cup of flour, 1/4 cup of brown sugar, 1/2 tablespoon of nutmeg and 1/4 cup of butter in a bowl, and mix the ingredients to a crumbly consistency. Spoon the mixture over the pie filling. Preheat the oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit, and bake the pie for 20 to 25 minutes or until the crumb topping is golden brown.
