To make Food Network's moussaka, slice a peeled eggplant and coat the slices with olive oil, salt and pepper. Brown them in 2 tablespoons of oil. Saute 1 minced onion and 2 minced garlic cloves in 2 tablespoons of olive oil for three minutes. Add 1 pound of ground beef and cook until browned. Stir in 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon and 3/4 cup of crushed tomatoes and simmer for 10 minutes.
Brown 1 pound of sliced potatoes in 3 tablespoons of olive oil and add salt and pepper. Layer the potatoes, beef and eggplant in a baking dish and top with 1 cup of Parmesan cheese. To make BBC Good Food's moussaka, brown 500 grams of ground beef for five minutes. Meanwhile, prick an eggplant and microwave it until soft. Mix 150 grams of yogurt, 1 egg, 3 tablespoons of Parmesan cheese and seasoning.
