Mix 1 pound of hamburger with one egg and enough milk and crushed crackers to form a loaf. Place the mixture in a greased pan, top with 1/4 cup each of ketchup and brown sugar mixed with 1 teaspoon of dry mustard, and bake one hour at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
For turkey meatloaf, lightly saute 1/2 cup of onion in 2 tablespoons of butter, cool and mix with 1 1/4 pounds of ground turkey, 1/2 cup of bread crumbs, 1/4 cup of ketchup, 2 teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce, one egg, and salt and pepper to taste. Press the mixture into a loaf pan, and spread an additional 1/2 cup of ketchup on top. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 50 to 55 minutes, and check that the internal temperature of the loaf reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
To cook meatloaf in a slow cooker, place the meatloaf directly into the cooker, put on the lid, and cook it on the low setting for three to four hours or on high for two to three hours. If the slow cooker is large, put the meatloaf into a metal loaf pan first. Place the pan in the slow cooker, put on the lid, and cook the loaf on the low setting for six to eight hours or on high for four hours.
