Spaghetti and meatballs and double corn chowder are two simple meals to make using a Crock-Pot. Both recipes require only four main ingredients, but take at least six hours to cook. Preparation time for both recipes is under 10 minutes.
To make a simple Crock-Pot spaghetti and meatballs, combine 1 pound of frozen precooked meatballs, a 26-ounce jar of pasta sauce, a chopped onion and 1/3 cup of water in a Crock-Pot. Cook on low for six to eight hours. When the meatballs and sauce are ready, cook 12 ounces of spaghetti or fettuccine pasta according to the package directions, then place it on a serving plate. Top the pasta with the meatballs and sauce, and top with Parmesan cheese if desired.
Double corn chowder requires 3 cups of frozen corn and 14 ounces of canned cream corn. Combine the corn with 1 chopped onion, 2 14-ounce cans of chicken broth, 1/8 teaspoon of pepper and 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme leaves in a Crock-Pot. Stir gently to mix, and then cook on low for five to six hours until the corn is tender. To thicken, mix 2 tablespoons of cornstarch and 3 tablespoons of water in a small bowl, and then add it to the pot. Cook for 10 to 15 minutes, top with crackers, and serve.
