To safely bake bacon, roast it on a baking sheet in the oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Line the baking sheet with aluminum foil to help reduce the mess.
Bacon is easy to roast in the oven. Roasting is a good way to make less of a mess while cooking bacon and results in crispy pieces. To make baked bacon, use the following steps.
- Prepare the oven and baking sheet
- Add the bacon to the sheet
- Let the bacon roast
- Drain the bacon
- Drain the baking sheet
Turn the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit to heat it up before baking. Use aluminum foil to line a baking sheet.
Arrange the slices on the lined sheet. Do not let the slices overlap or bunch together, as overlapping slices can get stuck together.
Cook the bacon in the oven for up to 20 minutes. Baking the slices for longer creates crispy bacon. Remove the bacon when it is browned and has reached the desired level of crispiness.
Let the slices drain on pieces of paper towel to remove excess grease. Let it cool slightly before serving.
Pour excess baking grease from a pan into a container or a paper towel. Do not pour it down the drain. Excess grease can harden in pipes and sewer systems, which causes blockages.
