A simple way to make fried green beans involves making a simple batter, dipping the green beans in the batter and frying the battered beans in peanut oil. This Food Network recipe begins with 10 minutes of preparation and takes 10 minutes to cook.
First, begin by preheating the peanut oil to 375 degrees Fahrenheit in a sturdy pot. While the oil is heating, whisk together 1 cup of beer, 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 2 teaspoons of salt and 1/2 teaspoon of pepper until the mixture contains no lumps.
Next, rinse and trim the ends off of 1 pound of green beans. Dip the green beans into the prepared batter mixture and make sure to allow the excess batter to drip off of the green beans. Finally, fry the battered green beans in the heated peanut oil in small batches. The beans should be crispy and golden in color when they are done.
Once the beans are crispy, remove the green beans from the peanut oil with a strainer and transfer them to a cookie sheet lined with paper towels. Immediately after transferring the fried green beans to the cookie sheet, season them with salt and pepper to taste.
