A quick and easy recipe for cranberry and orange chutney is available on TasteofHome.com. It takes 30 minutes to prepare and contains cranberries, orange juice, sugar, apples and mixed spices. It makes 10 servings.
To make Taste of Home's cranberry and orange chutney recipe, you need 1 package or 12 ounces of fresh or frozen cranberries, 1 cup of dried cranberries, 1 cup of orange juice, 1 cup of chopped and peeled Golden Delicious apples and 2/3 cup of white sugar. You will also need 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon of ground ginger, 1/8 teaspoon of ground allspice and 1/8 teaspoon of ground cloves.
To begin making the recipe, first combine the fresh or frozen cranberries, dried cranberries and orange juice with the ground cinnamon, ginger, allspice and cloves. Next, put all these ingredients in a small saucepan and cook on medium heat for 10 minutes or until the cranberries just begin to pop. When this happens, stir in the apple and cook the mixture for another eight to 10 minutes or until the mixture has thickened and all of the cranberries have popped. Serve warm or cold. Store the chutney in the refrigerator to keep it fresh.
