To make a rutabaga puff, cook 1 peeled and cubed rutabaga in boiling water for 45 minutes. Transfer to a bowl and mash until smooth. Mix in 1/2 cup of Miracle Whip dressing, 1 egg, 1/4 cup of flour, 1/4 teaspoon of baking powder, 1/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg and 1/4 teaspoon of onion powder. Pour the mixture into a greased casserole dish and top with 12 crushed crackers. Bake for 35 minutes at 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
To make roasted rutabaga, peel and cube a rutabaga, and toss the cubes with 3 tablespoons of olive oil and salt and pepper, to taste. Roast for 40 minutes at 425 degrees Fahrenheit, and toss with 1/2 teaspoon of cider vinegar and chopped parsley.
To make lemon carrots and rutabaga, bring to a boil 4 julienned carrots, 1 peeled and julienned rutabaga and 1/2 cup of water. Reduce the heat to medium, cover and simmer for 13 to 15 minutes. Combine 2 tablespoons of butter, 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, 1/2 teaspoon of grated lemon peel and 1/4 teaspoon dill weed in a saucepan.
