Red Bull does not contain bull sperm, or any other animal products. The rumor was spread on social media sites, such as Facebook and Twitter, in the spring of 2014, however, according to Red Bull, it is false. Red Bull is a mix of caffeine, taurine, b-group vitamins, natural sugars from sugar beets and alpine water.
At the heart of the rumor was the ingredient "taurine," which is a dietary supplement found naturally in tissues and in the large intestine of both animals and humans. The taurine used in Red Bull and other popular energy drinks is synthetically made, however, as are most of their other ingredients. In a statement made on their website, Red Bull confirms that all ingredients in their energy drink are synthetically produced in a pharmaceutical laboratory, and are of the highest quality.
