Velveeta hamburger dip is typically made with Velveeta cheese, Ro*tel diced tomatoes with green chilies, mozzarella cheese, ground beef and green onions. A milder variation of the dip substitutes sour cream and salsa for the Ro*tel and mozzarella cheese. Add bacon to make bacon cheeseburger dip.
To make Velveeta spicy cheeseburger dip, combine 1 pound of Velveeta cheese cut into 1/2 inch cubes, 1-10 ounce can of Ro*tel, 1/2 pound of cooked ground beef and 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese in a microwaveable bowl. Microwave on high for five minutes, stirring after three minutes. Stir in 4 sliced green onions after heating and serve with Ritz crackers or assorted vegetables.
For a milder version of the recipe, use 8 ounces of Velveeta cheese, 2 cups of sour cream, 2 cups of mild salsa and 1 pound of cooked ground beef. Set the oven to broil, and in a 9-by-9 baking dish, spread the ground beef evenly on the bottom of the dish. Cover the ground beef with salsa evenly, then spread sour cream over the salsa. Slice the Velveeta cheese into thin squares, and layer over the sour cream in rows, then broil until the cheese melts.
To make bacon cheeseburger dip, fry 8 pieces of bacon until evenly browned, drain on a paper towel and crumble into either of the above mixtures.
