Recipes using frozen hash browns include hash brown casserole, and skillet beef and hash browns. The hash brown casserole includes cream of chicken soup, sour cream, frozen hash browns, cooked ham, and American cheese. The casserole also requires onion, black pepper, cornflakes and melted butter.
To make the casserole, preheat an oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Mix 10 3/4 ounces of cream of chicken soup, and 8 ounces of light sour cream. Add 4 cups of frozen hash browns, 1 cup of diced cooked ham, 1 cup of cubed American cheese, 1/8 teaspoon of ground black pepper and 1/4 cup of chopped onion. Move the combination to a 2-quart square baking pan that is not greased. In a separate container, mix 3 tablespoons of melted butter and 1 cup of cornflakes. Sprinkle the cornflake mixture over the casserole. Bake the mixture for 50 to 55 minutes, and let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.
To make skillet beef and hash browns, cook 1 pound of ground beef in a skillet until the meat is brown. Add 10 3/4 ounces of condensed cream of celery soup, 1/2 cup of water, 1/4 cup of ketchup and 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce. Bring the mixture to a boil, and add 2 cups of hash browns. Cook the food covered for 10 minutes on low heat, and top with three slices of cheese.
