To make the Taste of Home Stir Fried Asparagus with Sliced Almonds recipe, cut 3 cups of asparagus into 1 inch pieces, dice one small onion and mince one clove of garlic. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a wok or skillet and add the vegetables. Cook them until they are tender and then add 2 teaspoons of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of soy sauce, 1/2 teaspoon of grated lemon peel and 2 tablespoons of toasted sliced almonds. Mix, and then add 1 tablespoon of Parmesan cheese on top.
To make Food & Wine's Candied Almonds, preheat an oven to 250 degrees and use parchment paper to line a large rimmed baking sheet. Whisk one large egg white in a stainless steel bowl until the egg white begins to firm. Whisk in 2 tablespoons of sugar and whip until the mixture is glossy and stiff.
