To make Trisha Yearwood's recipe for slow cooker macaroni and cheese, spray a 4-quart slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray. Combine 8 ounces cooked macaroni, 1 12-ounce can evaporated milk, 1 1/2 cups whole milk, 1/4 cup melted butter and 1 teaspoon salt in the slow cooker. Add a dash of pepper and two large beaten eggs, plus roughly 4 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese.
Mix these ingredients well, then sprinkle the top of the mixture with an additional 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese and a dash of paprika. Cook on low heat for three hours and 15 minutes. Stir the mixture, and serve hot.
For broccoli salad, cut 8 ounces of bacon into small pieces, and cook until crisp. Drain the bacon on paper towels. Blanch 5 cups broccoli florets in boiling water for about three minutes. Drain, run under cold water, and drain again.
In a large bowl combine 1 cup mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon cider vinegar, 1/3 cup chopped onion, 1/4 cup sugar and 3/4 cup raisins. Add the broccoli, and toss to coat. Refrigerate for at least one hour. Fold in bacon and 1/2 cup sunflower seeds before serving.
