Two methods for cooking sirloin steak include broiling it and searing it in a pan. After cooking, two recipes for the steak include cucumber ranch steaks and mustard-glazed sirloin.
To broil a steak in the oven, preheat it to the broiler setting. Make a "snake" out of aluminum foil to place in the oven door so the broiler doesn't turn off if the oven gets too hot. Brush the steak with 2-teaspoons olive oil and seasonings, and place it directly on the broiler for five minutes per side to cook. To sear a steak in a pan, heat a cast-iron pan to medium-high. Brush the steak in about 1-tablespoon olive oil, and coat it with 1-teaspoon salt and 1/2-teaspoon pepper. Cook on each side for about five minutes.
After cooking the steaks, create a cucumber ranch dressing with 1/2-cup chopped cucumber, 1/4-cup ranch dressing, 1-tablespoon garlic pepper seasoning and diced tomatoes. Simply mix all of the ingredients together, placing them on top of the steaks before serving. For a mustard-glazed sirloin steak, combine 2-tablespoons soy sauce, 2-tablespoons dry sherry, 2-tablespoons Dijon mustard and the juice of a lime. Add 1/2-teaspoon dried thyme, 1/2-teaspoon garlic salt and 1/2-teaspoon pepper to season. Coat the steaks in the glaze before cooking them in the broiler or in a pan.
