Some recipes for simple cherry cobbler include ones from Taste of Home and My Recipes. Another simple dish is the Easy Cherry Cobbler Recipe from the Harry & David website.
To make simple cherry cobbler, heat 1 cup of canned and pitted tart cherries and 1/3 cup of sugar in a saucepan. Once it boils, remove from the stove. In a separate container, mix together 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder and 3 tablespoons of sugar. Cut 1 tablespoon of cold butter into the flour mixture, then wet the crumbly mixture with 1/4 cup of 2-percent milk. Spread the batter into the bottom of a baking dish, and top with the cherry mixture. Cook at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 25 to 30 minutes.
Another easy recipe also requires you to bring undrained tart cherries from a 15-ounce can to a boil in a saucepan. Combine 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of milk, 2 teaspoons of baking powder and 1/8 teaspoon of salt in a bowl. Layer the bottom of a casserole dish with 1/2 cup of melted butter, topped with the batter and cherries. Sprinkle 1/4 cup of sugar over the cherries, and bake for 20 to 30 minutes at 400 degrees.
