Mrs. Dash has salt-free recipes, such as baby spinach and bow ties and asparagus soup, that are simple and easy-to-follow. Both recipes are seasoned with a lemon-pepper blend.
To make the baby spinach and bow ties, cook 12 ounces bow tie pasta according to the box instructions, and save 1/2 cup of the pasta cooking water. Toss the cooked pasta with 1 tablespoon oil, and set aside. In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil, and add 2 garlic cloves. Cook for three to five minutes, and add 2 cups tomatoes and 2 sun-dried tomatoes. Cook for three to five minutes, and add 6 cups baby spinach. Add 2 tablespoons lemon juice, 6 tablespoons black olives and 1 1/2 teaspoon lemon pepper seasoning blend. Add the pasta to the sauce, along with some cooking liquid. Top with 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese.
To make asparagus soup, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a saucepan. Add 1 small onion and 1 small leek. Cook for three minutes, and add 3 medium russet potatoes and 2 pounds fresh asparagus. Sauté and add 6 cups chicken stock. Puree the soup in a food processor until smooth, and return to the saucepan. Add 1 tablespoon lemon pepper seasoning blend and 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice.
