Two Paula Deen pasta salad recipes are Paula's Italian Pasta Salad and Macaroni Salad. The Italian Pasta Salad recipe is a more traditional pasta salad using balsamic vinaigrette, cherry tomatoes and bell peppers.
To make Paula's Italian Pasta Salad, cook a pound of bow tie pasta according to the instructions on the package. Meanwhile, mix together 1 cup balsamic vinaigrette, 1/4 cup mayonnaise and 1 tablespoon sugar. Put the pasta in a bowl, and mix in 2 cups halved cherry tomatoes, a 4-ounce can of sliced and drained mushrooms, 2/3 cup pitted olives, 1/2 a green pepper diced, and salt and pepper to taste. Pour the dressing over the pasta mixture, and stir to combine. Top with grated Parmesan cheese.
For the macaroni salad, start by combining 2 cups cooked elbow macaroni, 3 chopped hard-boiled eggs, 1 cup diced celery, 1/4 cup diced green pepper and 2 tablespoons diced green onions. Add in 1 tablespoon chopped pimento, 1 cup mayonnaise, 1 teaspoon lemon pepper, 1 teaspoon House Seasoning and 1 teaspoon yellow mustard. Add salt and pepper to taste, then cover and refrigerate until serving. To make Paula's House Seasoning, mix together 1 cup salt, 1/4 cup garlic powder and 1/4 cup black pepper.
