Lipton onion soup meatballs are made by combining one packet of Lipton onion soup mix, 1 1/2 pounds of ground beef, 1 1/2 cups of dried bread crumbs and one egg in a large bowl. Additional spices such as oregano, basil, thyme and black pepper can be added as well.
Parmesan cheese and cream of mushroom soup can also be added to the mixture to thicken it if needed. Roll small portions of the meat mixture together to make the meatballs. The size of the meatballs depends on if they will be used as appetizers or incorporated into a main dish. Mini cocktail meatballs should have a diameter of less than one inch, while regular sized meatballs are usually one inch or more in diameter.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Place the meatballs on a baking dish that has been lined with aluminum foil and lightly greased. Cook the meatballs in the oven for 18 to 30 minutes depending on the size. Rotate the meatballs twice so that they cook evenly. Use a thermometer to check that the internal temperature of the meatballs is greater than 160 degrees before removing them from the oven. Serve them immediately with assorted condiments, or incorporate them into sauces or soups.
