Some recipes for kielbasa and pasta include Johnsonville Skillet Mac and Cheese Kielbasa, Spicy Kielbasa Pasta and Kielbasa-Sauerkraut Pasta Bake. Kielbasa is a smoked Polish sausage that combines well with pasta and vegetables. Each of these recipes takes no more than 30 minutes to prepare, including cooking time.
Johnsonville Skillet Mac and Cheese Kielbasa specifically calls for a 13.5 ounce package of Johnsonville Polish Kielbasa Premium Cooking Sausage. Cut the sausage into slices and brown it for up to 5 minutes in a skillet. Remove the sausage, boil the pasta in the skillet, and then combine it with a sauce of cornstarch, milk and hot pepper sauce. Return the sausage to the skillet with the pasta, along with shredded Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese.
Kielbasa-Sauerkraut Pasta Bake is also made in a single skillet. Brown the kielbasa, and then remove it. Boil chicken broth with mustard, and then add the sauerkraut, pasta and browned kielbasa. Bake the skillet in the oven for around 15 minutes until thoroughly warmed.
To make Spicy Kielbasa pasta, brown the sausage with shallots, broccoli rabe, mushrooms and garlic. Add pasta sauce, olive oil, red pepper, basil and black pepper to a simmer. Serve the dish with Parmesan cheese.
