Kraft publishes a few cherry delight recipes on its website, including a classic version with a graham cracker crust and a variation that includes oranges. Both recipes predominantly consist of cream cheese and Cool Whip.
To make Kraft's basic cherry delight recipe, crush 2 packages graham crackers, combine with 1 1/2 sticks melted butter and form into the base of a 9 by 13 inch pan. In a mixing bowl, beat together 2 packages of softened cream cheese, a 16-ounce package of powdered sugar and 1 large tub of Cool Whip. Spread this mixture evenly on the graham cracker crust and top with 2 cans of cherry pie filling. Chill for one hour before serving.
To make cherry orange delight, combine 2 1/2 cups of bowling water with 3 packages of cherry-flavored Jell-O mix in a medium bowl. Stir for about two minutes and mix in 2 3/4 cups cold water. Chill for 75 minutes. Once the Jell-O firms into an egg-white consistency, gently mix in 1 drained, 15-ounce can of mandarin oranges, keeping a few segments aside as a garnish. Next, beat 4 ounces of softened cream cheese with 2 tablespoons sugar in a separate bowl and stir in 1 tub of Cool Whip. Transfer cream cheese mixture into a serving bowl, top with Jell-O mixture, and chill for two hours. Once firm, garnish with the remaining orange segments.
