The English-style boiled beef recipe and the braised cod fillet recipe from T-fal USA are suitable recipes for a Tefal pressure cooker. Both recipes are easy to prepare. Tefal and T-fal are two names for the same brand.
To make boiled beef, place a 1 3/4-pound slab of brisket into the pressure cooker. Fill the pressure cooker halfway with cold water, and sprinkle in salt and pepper. Lock the lid of the pressure cooker, and select the highest pressure setting. Cook it for 35 minutes. It takes 20 minutes to cook each pound of brisket, so adjust the cooking time accordingly if your brisket is smaller or larger. Turn off the heat, and allow the pressure to subside gradually. Drain off the cooking liquid, and serve the brisket.
To make braised cod fillet, warm up 2 ounces of butter in the pressure cooker, and sauté 1 chopped onion until it is tender. Transfer the mixture into a bowl. Layer the bottom of the cooker with 1 pound of 1-inch-thick potato slices. Cut 1 1/2 pounds of cod fillet into serving sizes, and put them on top of the potatoes. Drizzle the buttery onion mixture on top.
Squeeze in the juice from 1 lemon, and pour in 3/4 pint of water. Add salt and pepper to taste, and scatter in 1 tablespoon of chopped fresh parsley. Cover the pressure cooker, and bring it to pressure over low heat. Cook the fish for 10 minutes. Quickly release the pressure, and serve the dish right away.
