Sriracha Popcorn and Turkey Jar and Cheesecake in a Jar are some recipes that can be made using Mason jars. Ingredients are either precooked and placed in a jar or are cooked in a jar within a slow cooker.
Make Sriracha Popcorn and Turkey Jar by rolling two slices of herb deli turkey lengthwise. Layer the turkey in a Mason jar with one large julienned carrot, 1/3 cup each of shredded purple and green cabbage, 1/3 cup of air popped popcorn, 1/2 of a thinly sliced avocado and 1/4 cup of baby spinach. Sprinkle the mixture with 1 teaspoon of Sriracha sauce and 1/4 teaspoon each of pepper and sea salt.
The Cheesecake in a Jar recipe makes seven servings in 1/2-pint Mason jars. Make the crust by combining 1 cup of graham cracker crumbs with 1 tablespoon of sugar. Put 2 tablespoons of the crust mixture at the bottom of each jar, packing down gently.
Beat 2 pounds of cream cheese on a medium-high setting for two minutes. Add 1 2/3 cups of sugar and 1/4 cup of cornstarch. Continue beating on medium for two more minutes. On low speed, add 2 teaspoons of vanilla, two large eggs and 3/4 cup of cream.
Fill each jar three-quarters full of batter and cover lightly with a lid. Place the jars into a slow cooker. Pour warm water into the crock pot until it comes three-quarters of the way up the jars. Remove the lids. Cover the slow cooker and set on high. Cook for two hours, let the jars cool, and then refrigerate them.
