Some recipes using Kraft Caramels are Kraft's Caramel-Mallow Bars and Creme Caramel Cake. The Caramel-Mallow Bars have a pecan and graham cracker base with a layer of caramel topped with a combination of chocolate and marshmallows. The Creme Caramel Cake uses a boxed cake mix flavored with creme caramel and topped with melted Kraft Caramels.
To make Kraft's Caramel-Mallow Bars, start by beating together 2/3 cup softened butter and 1/2 cup brown sugar until creamy. Stir in 1 1/2 cups flour, 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans and 1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs. Set aside 1/4 cup of the crumb mixture, and press the rest into a greased 9-inch square pan. Bake the crumb mixture for 18 minutes until it turns light brown.
Meanwhile, melt 28 Kraft Caramels with 2 tablespoons water in a saucepan over low heat. Pour the caramel over the baked crust, and then top the bars with the reserved crumb mixture, 1 cup mini marshmallows and 2 ounces chopped semi-sweet chocolate. Bake for another 12 to 14 minutes, until the marshmallows are slightly brown. Cool completely before cutting into 24 bars and serving them. Store extra bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to five days.
