To make the first recipe, combine one box of yellow cake mix, 1 1/2 cups of quick-cooking oats, 2 teaspoons cinnamon and 1/2 cup of packed brown sugar. In a separate bowl, mix 3/4 cup of unsweetened applesauce, 1 egg, 1 cup of peeled and finely chopped apple and 1/2 cup raisins. Blend the two mixtures together and drop by the spoonful onto a greased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 12 to 14 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool on a rack before serving.
For the second recipe, preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and mix the following ingredients together in a bowl: 1/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon of fat free milk, 1 cup of reduced fat baking mix such as Bisquick, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, 1/4 cup packed brown sugar and one cup chopped apples. Granny Smith apples work well in this recipe. Spray a cookie sheet with non-fat cooking spray and drop dough onto sheets in rounded spoonfuls. Bake for about four minutes or until the bottoms have developed a light golden brown color.Learn more about Desserts
