A recipe for seven-layer cookie bars consists of graham cracker crumbs, sweetened condensed milk, semi-sweet chocolate chips, white chocolate chips and a few other ingredients. This recipe takes about 10 minutes to prepare and 25 minutes to cook, and it makes 2 to 3 dozen cookies.
To make the seven-layer cookie bars, preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Combine 1 1/2 cups of graham cracker crumbs and a 1/2 cup of melted butter in a small bowl, and stir until well-combined. Next, press this mixture into the bottom of a greased 13-by-9-inch baking dish. Pour one 14-ounce can of sweetened condensed milk over the graham cracker crust.
Now, add even layers of 1/2 cup each of semi-sweet chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, peanut butter chips, white chocolate chips, 1 1/3 cup coconut flakes and 1 cup of chopped nuts. Peanuts or walnuts work well in this recipe. Press these ingredients down firmly with a fork. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven, and bake for about 25 minutes or until the cookies start to lightly brown on top. Let the cookies cool completely, and then cut into small bars. The ingredients can easily be omitted or substituted to fit your preferences.
