To make an easy pumpkin fluff dip, whisk 1 package of vanilla instant pudding with 1 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice and 15 ounces of pumpkin puree. Fold 8 ounces of thawed whipped topping into the mixture, and refrigerate the dip for one hour before serving it.
Alternatively, pour 1 cup of heavy whipping cream into the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment. Add 1/2 cup of softened cream cheese, 2 tablespoons of pure maple syrup, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and 1 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice. Beat the mixture on low speed until the cream cheese starts breaking down. Beat it on high speed for one to two minutes, or until the mixture is smooth and thick. Reduce the speed to low, and mix 1 cup of pumpkin puree into the dip.
To make a variation that doesn't use whipped cream or whipped topping, beat 8 ounces of softened cream cheese with 14 ounces of marshmallow creme until the ingredients are smooth and well combined. Stir 15 ounces of pumpkin puree into the mixture, along with 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon and 1 teaspoon of grated orange peel.
Serve pumpkin fluff dip with sliced apples or pears, gingersnaps, graham crackers or cookies. Store any leftover dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
