Panlasang Pinoy offers a recipe for baked king crab legs with garlic lemon butter sauce on PanlasangPinoy.com. The recipe calls for king crab legs, olive oil, garlic, parsley, lemon juice and butter. The recipe takes about 25 minutes to prepare.
Melt 3/4 cup of butter in a saucepan over low heat. When the butter is hot, add 3 slightly crushed cloves of garlic to the pan and cook for one minute without letting the garlic brown. Pour 1/4 cup of lemon juice into the pan, stir and then let it stand for about 20 seconds. Add 3 tablespoons of extra-virgin olive oil, 1 teaspoon of minced parsley and a pinch of salt to taste, then turn off the heat and set aside.
Cut 2 pounds of king crab legs in half crosswise so they are half of their original length. Using kitchen shears, cut the shell of each leg lengthwise to create a 3 to 4-inch opening in each leg. Set the crab legs in a baking tray and apply the garlic lemon butter to the openings where the meat is exposed. Bake the crabs in a 300 degree F oven for 12 to 15 minutes until the kitchen smells like crabs. Remove from the oven and allow to cool before serving on a platter with the garlic lemon butter on the side.
