The three-ingredient Nutella truffles recipe from Crazy for Crust and the Nutella truffles recipe friom Deliciously Yum are two recipes for Nutella truffles. Though these recipes call for Nutella, you can substitute any brand of chocolate spread by starting with a smaller amount and building up to adjust the consistency.
To make Crazy for Crust's truffles, process 20 Oreos and 5 tablespoons of Nutella in a food processor until smooth. If the mixture is too soft to roll, chill it for 15 minutes. If not, make chocolate ball truffles out of 1 tablespoon of the mixture each, and chill them for at least one hour. If you chilled the mixture before rolling, chill the truffles for about 15 minutes.
After the truffles have chilled, melt 6 to 8 ounces of melting chocolate, dip each truffle in it, and chill until serving. Add some sprinkles on top if desired.
For the recipe by Deliciously Yum, place 10 ounces of semisweet or dark chocolate into a bowl. Then heat 1/3 cup of heavy cream until hot but not boiling, and pour it over the chocolate. Let the mixture sit for two minutes, and then stir until fully combined. Add 1/2 cup of Nutella to the mixture, and stir again. Refrigerate the mixture for two hours.
Using a cookie scoop, make chocolate balls out of the mixture, and place them on a cookie sheet. Then freeze them for about 30 minutes. Heat the remaining chocolate until it completely melts, add canola oil, and stir. Dip the chocolate ball truffles in the melted chocolate, and put it back on the cookie sheet. Put the truffles back in the freezer for 15 minutes.
