Make Neiman Marcus Popovers at home by combining milk, eggs, sugar, flour, baking powder and salt, then baking the mixture in a popover pan for approximately 45 minutes. Strawberry butter, made by combining strawberry preserves and butter, is recommended as an accompaniment.
For the popovers, begin by microwaving 3 1/2 cups of whole milk for about 2 minutes or until it is warm to the touch. In a large mixing bowl, sift together 4 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt and a teaspoon of baking powder. In a second large bowl, crack 6 eggs and whisk together with an electric mixer on medium speed until foamy. Add the warm milk to the eggs and mix briefly to combine. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the milk and egg mixture and beat on low speed for about two minutes. At this point, let the batter rest for an hour before continuing.
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare a popover pan by spraying with a nonstick cooking spray. Fill each of the cups of the pan with batter leaving a small amount of room at the top. Place the popover pan on a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes. Reduce the oven temperature to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and bake for an additional 30 to 35 minutes until golden brown. Remove them from the oven and cool.
For the strawberry butter, combine 1 1/2 cups of butter with 1 cup of strawberry preserves. Beat with a blender until fluffy. Serve on Neiman Marcus Popovers.
