Mrs. Fields does not publish the recipe for its famous chocolate chip cookies, but TopRecipeSecrets.com offers an imitation recipe. To make the imitation Mrs. Fields chocolate chip cookies, start by preheating an oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
In a large mixing bowl or in the bowl of a stand mixer, cream together two sticks of softened butter, two eggs, 2 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, 1/2 cup of sugar and 1 1/2 cups of packed brown sugar. In a separate bowl, stir together 2 1/2 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of baking soda and 3/4 teaspoon of salt.
Once the separate bowls are mixed well, combine the wet and dry ingredients to form the cookie dough. Then, stir in 1 1/2 bags of semi-sweet chocolate chips. Shape the dough into golf ball sized mounds and set on an ungreased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart. Bake the cookies for nine to 10 minutes, or until the edges of the cookies just start to become light brown. The cookies should be soft in the middle and crispy on the outside.
The recipe makes approximately two dozen cookies. It may be doubled or tripled to make larger batches.
