Make cookies from any flavor cake mix by adding eggs, oil, water and add-ins. Each box of cake mix makes approximately two dozen cookies in about 15 minutes.
Choose the cake mix and any add-ins you feel appropriate. Options for add-ins include baking chips, fresh or dried fruit, and nuts.
Add the cake mix, two eggs, 1/2 cup of oil and 1/4 cup of water to a mixing bowl. Use an electric hand mixer to blend these ingredients, mixing well. Add the coordinating mix-in to the batter and stir by hand to distribute it through the dough.
Drop the cookies by teaspoons onto a cookie sheet. Place the sheet in a 350 degree Fahrenheit preheated oven and bake for approximately 10 minutes. Tap the cookie sheet to loosen the cookies and allow them to cool for at least 10 minutes before removing them from the baking sheet.
Cake mix cookies are a good choice for the holidays or any time you want to treat your family to home-baked cookies without spending the time to measure all the ingredients. Purchase extra cake mix when it is on sale and store it in the pantry so that you always have the ingredients on hand for these easy cookies.
