To make Oreo cookie balls, mix 40 crushed Oreo cookies and 8 ounces of softened cream cheese, roll them into balls, and freeze for 10 minutes. Dip the cold Oreo balls into melted chocolate. Place the chocolate-covered Oreo balls in the refrigerator to help the chocolate harden.
Crush the cookies to a fine texture so the balls don't have large chunks of cookie in them. Use a rolling pin with the cookies in a sealed plastic bag, or pulse the cookies in a food processor. Combine the cookies with the cream cheese until they are completely blended together. Using softened cream cheese makes the mixing easier.
The mixture makes about 48 1-inch Oreo balls. Scoop up the amount in a measuring spoon, and roll the mixture between your palms to form a smooth ball. Freezing the balls helps them retain the shape.
Almond bark or candy melts work well for the coating because they harden easily. Melt the chocolate according to the package directions. Dip one ball at a time, dropping it in the chocolate and coating all sides. Place the dipped Oreo balls on a tray lined with wax paper. Drizzle a different color of chocolate over the top, or top the balls with additional crushed Oreo cookies before the chocolate coating hardens.
