Jif.com offers a recipe for irresistible peanut butter cookies that uses Jif peanut butter. The recipe is easy to prepare in a short amount of time and yields three dozen cookies.
Make the irresistible cookies by mixing 3/4 of a cup of Jif creamy peanut butter, 1/2 cup of Crisco all-vegetable shortening, 1 1/4 cups firmly packed brown sugar, 3 tablespoons of milk and 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract in a large bowl. Beat the mixture with an electric mixer until it is thoroughly blended, and then add an egg and mix until just blended. Separately combine 1 3/4 cups of all-purpose flour, 3/4 teaspoon of baking soda and 3/4 teaspoon of salt. Add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture and mix just enough to blend them.
Drop the mixture by rounded teaspoon full about 2 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Flatten the dough balls slightly with a fork using a crisscross pattern. Bake the cookies at 375 F for about seven to eight minutes or until they are just starting to brown. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool for a couple of minutes on the baking sheet. Then move them from the sheet to a cooling rack and let them set until they are completely cool.
