Parmesan, cheesy salsa and taco dips are all recipes using sour cream. With small ingredient lists and short prep times, they are all easy ways to add flavor to regular sour cream.
Make the Parmesan sour cream dip by putting a 16-ounce container of sour cream into a bowl; it can be either reduced fat or full flavor depending on taste. Add 1/2 cup of freshly grated Parmesan, 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard and kosher salt and ground pepper to taste. Go lightly with the salt and season to taste, as Parmesan is a salty cheese. Mix thoroughly and serve.
For a cheesy salsa dip, mix a 16-ounce container of sour cream, a 10-ounce can of diced tomatoes with green chili peppers and the juice, a 6-ounce can of sliced black olives (drained), 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese and about half of a 1-ounce package of dry ranch salad dressing mix. Refrigerate for about two hours before serving.
A spicy taco dip starts with 16 ounces of sour cream and then add a 1 1/4-ounce package of your favorite taco seasoning. Mix well for at least one minute. Refrigerate for at least one hour before serving. Serve with corn chips.
